ANC sweaters
so this past week Ray Chi asked me if i could do him a favor and help design some sweaters for ANC's college group winter retreat and being the bored, project-less designer that i am i took it in a heartbeat! it was super last minute and i had only about a day to work on it (thanks ray -_-). the theme was "faith alive" and this design has NOTHING to do with that! haha i thought it was kind of funny and Ray and his pastor liked it so blame them not me. i just follow orders. personally i dont like "stealing" images from places but because it was so last minute and for retreat i guess its okay but id rather make em from scratch. i think most of the guys will like it/think its funny but i dont know about the girls. haha either way we pulled it off and heres a sneak at what its suppose to look like... i hope i dont get introuble for showing this haha

Hottie With A Moustache!
so this past semester i took photo 21 at PCC with Matt Jordan. he was pretty chill, kind of anal about the prints but overall pretty good. class was pretty fun. wasted lots of money on paper and film but had fun and made some pretty cool friends. anyways heres my final for the class, its my "series" on girls with moustaches! haha check it out

this is also another final i did for my 2D design class with Sue Brown. shes was also super chill but the class itself was too boring for me. not saying im this super artsy dude but all/most of the things i learned in her class i learned back in 10th grade so it was kind of hard to pay attention but yeah, heres my final for that class

i have one more final that i already turned in and thats the one i like the most, when i get it back ill post it up for you guys to critique/criticize...

Where do you start?
what do you do when the skeletons from your closet come back to haunt you. the deep dark secrets that you thought would never be found are about to be discovered and by the person who'll get hurt the most.i guess you can hide them even deeper and hope whoevers searching for them will finally just stop looking. or maybe you can take the skeleton out of the darkness on your own terms. but when you start to explain, where do you start?
do you begin with talking about how it wasnt your fault and start pointing fingers? or do you start with the empty apologizes and how it'll never happen again? or do you just man up and take the blame that you rightfully deserve and hope, wish, dream, PRAY that the other party will accept you for you and all your past mistakes. where do I start? should i start with all the sins ive committed in my 20 years of life on earth? or should i start with my excuses by blaming the temptations of the world or my peers. can i blame Adam and Eve for bringing the sin into our world? or do i even dare to blame God for giving us the freedom of choice? i wish i could say that i dont regret a thing and that ive learned from my mistakes but the truth is, i do regret, and if i had the chance id take back those mistakes in a heartbeat. but what if i start with the truth, the honest truth. what if i let the truth out and all the darkness that might dwell within it? theres no guarantee that your friends will still be there to support you. or that your parents will ever trust you again but seriously, honestly, legitimately, you/(I) have to let them out. i dont want to be a liar and someone who hides the truth is just another liar not man enough to lie to your face.
God help us

Surfs Down?
saturday i went to sunset beach to ride some waves and test out my camera. i checked surf forecast on www.surfline.com but they kept saying conditions were poor, 1-2ft waves. i thought aw what the hell maybe ill just go and catch me a 2footer... wrong. when we got to the beach the waves were ridiculously small and all breaking way too late (close to shore), i think i can make bigger waves in my tub. either way we got out and surfed for only like an hour and a half. the weather wasnt too bad, i think it was about 63ish but my new wetsuit kept me warm. as for my camera its aiite. some weird light streaks when i do video but overall its not bad. heres some samples
The Next 127 Days Potter gets Tangled

The Next Three Days with Russell Crowe. the trailer looked really good for this movie so i went to go watch it. i think the trailer itself was more entertaining than the actual movie!
imdb C

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 1 this movie was basically just a filler. i think they wanted to milk their last movie cause this one had no action/fighting. i think the best scene in this movie is probably when Ron starts talking about the light going through his chest! the hanger at the end has me super excited to see part 2. i love emma watson, i wish she didnt KILL her hair.
imdb B-

127 Hours with James Franco. this movie was surprisingly good. i went in with super low expectations and came out pretty entertained. Its pretty mush just him...alone.. for the whole movie but its better than it sounds. kind of intense
imdb B-

Tangled, yes i watched Tangled but to be fair the preview looked good and it was with good company so it wasnt that bad. but the movie itself was a let down. lets just say im not a big fan of short hair

T-DAY!
the best thing about thanksgiving is seeing your family and friends... OH! and black friday shopping!
thanksgiving morning met up with my friends in Old Town Pasadena, nothing was open so we just walk around until we found this place called Jake's this place is like alot like The Counter, you guys should check it out. i pass by it all the time but its really worth stopping by.

then i had dinner at my aunts place and met up with my cousins. i love my family, so thankful for each individual in my family. after feasting we went over to my other cousins house were we played pingpong and (they) played poker all night. pot was $140 but i didnt get in on any of that action cause some of my cousins are SHARKS! just steal my money but all in all thanksgiving was great. and i cant wait for christmas... if only i had a girlfriend... haha

Christians, Where are you?
so today was like any other wednesday, had class and was walking through the quad at PCC when i see a large group of people. they usually have clubs and booths in the quad but this was different so i started walking closer. when i got alittle closer i see an older lady standing with a sign that had Jesus and a heart (i dont remember exactly what it was). but thats not what was getting everyones attention. it was the guy standing next to her with a huge sign with a passage from Leviticus (i forgot which one) but he was standing there in the middle of this crowd. I wish i could say it was miraculous and people were coming to Christ on the spot but they werent, in fact they were doing the complete opposite. People were very bluntly yelling in his face screaming at him telling him all Christians are fascists and just straight up attacking him. so here i was standing there watching a fellow brother in Christ getting persecuted and attacked from my fellow peers. i wanted so bad to go up next to him and stand firm for what we believed but i couldnt. i knew i should have, i felt the Holy Spirit calling me to do it but i couldnt, i chickened out and just put my head down and walked away. then i started looking around at everyone else and began to think. if Christianity is one of (if not the biggest) religion in the world, where are my fellow brothers and sisters? do we only appear on sundays or in private "safe" areas where we wont get judged? why is it that if theres a Christian group having a fundraiser or just giving away free WWJD bracelets we have no problem going there and getting one (but of course were always cautious about whos watching you just incase they might judge you) but what about situations like this. where one brother is getting persecuted, judged and just being torn up by our peers, why do WE christians just put our heads down in shame and walk away or turn our ipods up and pretend like we didnt notice the mob of people gathering around a brother in need. Our society has changed, undoubtedly, but did our love for Jesus change? do we love Jesus as much as his followers did back in the day? Why do we hide our love for Jesus and only express them when we are alone or at Church. This entry is not directed at anyone but myself and the relationship im living with God but if anyone else is in my situation i think we should really consider who were living for. So lets try to be like Apostle Paul and be bold and share the Love.
2 Corinthians 12:10
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

"I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY HANDS!"

... thats a quote from PAPER MAN (imdb)
Tim recommended this movie to me because i told him about my Emma Stone obsession!
This movie was quite interesting.. i really liked it but at the same time it kind of felt perverse (...their relationship) i think even if Emma Stone wasnt in the movie i would have liked it. its funny its sad and everything in between. you guys should check it out
Some dude in SF is freaking Genius!
he hand makes belts out of used bike tires.
the sites called RETIREDBELTS.COM (re-tired get it?)
i was really considering buying one until i saw it was freaking $25 for a used up tire... then my light went off!
i got some dead tires hanging on my wall why not make it!?
so i did, not a belt cause thats already been done but a key chain!
yeah its less cool but i think its still pretty dope!

longlivetheKING?
if any of you guys follow basketball you probably know what happened to LeBron James.
for those of you who dont, he pretty much left his team in Cleveland to come to Miami.
so to no surprise the Cleveland fans are super pissed and so are alot of other people calling him traitor, quitter, things like that.
well he made this Nike commercial after he made that decision to move.
if you havent seen it yet you should watch that.
then watch this response from the people to the king..
Due Date

Last night i went out with a couple of my friends to go watch Due Date with Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifinakis.
The movie was hilarious, and zach is very Alan like (from the hangover). it was funny but at the same time kind of deep.
i wouldnt say its Hangover funny but its a great movie for some cheap laughs. go check it out!
saw this in the parking lot of LA LIVE, i just had to share it

so this weekend i went to watch Jackass 3D.
this movie was hilarious! well it was very Jackass funny so if youre into stupid, you'll like it.
i think it was the best yet, not to mention the way it was filmed. i really enjoyed all the slow mo and the outro (just watch it, very spike jonze like)
after watching it im more and more wanting to get into video and stuff, i think spike jonze is amazing, this is something i found looking through his stuff.

Wurstkuche
so last week i went to this hot dog place hidden in downtown LA that specializes in "exotic grilled sausages". personally i dont like hotdogs but these were no ordinary hotdogs, they have so many different types of sausages, i recommend the Mango Jalapeno! its so good. but for the brave there is always the exotic section of the menu. they have Duck & Bacon with Jalapeno Peppers and Rabbit, Veal & Pork seasoned with White Wine and a couple more. i had to try the Rattlesnake and Rabbit with Jalapeno Peppers and it was FREAKING AMAZING! it had a certain kick that made me think twice about hot dogs. the atmosphere is really clubby/bar like so if youre under 21 might not be your thang.

I Love DIY
so today the weather was in my opinion.... PERFECT! it was cold, overcast, and just enough rain to keep you cool but not enough to keep you from opening your window. (alittle water never hurt anyone) i was alittle worried because i had a shooting assignment to do for my photo class but the rain was alittle challenging. the pictures were due tuesday and i didnt have money to buy a camera rain protector so i did what any other creative young dark skinned korean boy would do... i DID IT MYSELF! i made my own (semi)waterproof camera bag using a ziploc bag, rubber cement, masking tape, and tiny rubber bands. by the time i finished making this apparatus the rain had stopped but either way i made it and it works! when it started sprinkling i threw it on and fit perfectly but its alittle uncomfortable =/ oh well either way it was better than nothing! haha i really think the pictures i took today are gonna come out good! *cross my fingers knock on wood* ill post them when i finish developing them... so in about a month or two haha.JPG)

BAM, right in the kisser...

today i had a soccer tournament with my JOGI (korean league) soccer team in Cerritos. we won last year and this year we won but thats not the important thing.. right before our game we were watching the team we were about to play for the championship play. one of our team members in the adults division was reffing. the game was suppose to end about 15minutes ago so everyone was getting pissed so the coach from the winning team started screaming at the ref and cursing calling him a GAESHEk... and yeah so you know these old dudes with their pride. so the ref calls the coach over and the coach kicks his slippers off and starts coming towards him still cursing. then the ref just gave him a left hook to the face and BAMM the guy goes down! he literally hits the ground. everyone else starts running to the ref trying to fight and its like a whole brawl now! he was DOWN! they eventually calmed down and later at our tent i over heard him say (in korean) "who else do i have to fight so that they wont mess with me!?" haha funny man.. so yeah they eventually ended the game and the other team just forfit their final game with us and we won be default. so after waiting about 2 and a half hours we never got to play our final game. winning is cool but i really wanted to play. but either way, a win is a win.

School
so for this semester at PCC im taking beginning black and white photography, take black and white photos develop them, present tada' youre done... how hard can it be. well turns out developing pictures arent as easy as Rite-Aid makes it out to be. getting one enlargement took me about 2 classes = 4 hours and that was just for an "OKAY" print. i should have kept going and finding the perfect time and filter but after going through about 7 different photo papers and endless amounts of test strips. but i guess its kind of a love hate relationship because when im in the darkroom im hating it and wishing i could just go drop off my film at the closest 1-hour print place but once the pictures done drying and ready to be mounted i know thats all me and damn that feels good. here are some of my first prints, there not the best but there still my babies.
and another thing i missed about school were the lectures! thats when my doodling really got going. i doodle all the time but when its a lecture magic happens. my brain totally goes into the wonderful creative world of Doodle and the professors voice just becomes a distant never-ending buzzing noise but for some reason thats when my doodles become art. heres one i did the other day while my teacher was going over the fundamentals of contour drawings.

DROOL*
watch this thing in HD and FULL SCREEN!
saw this video and im simply amazed by the editing and how this thing was shot in general. after seeing this i kind of want to get the 7D again but i dont know how they got 1000fps (frames per second) thats insane because i think out of the box it shoots like 30 fps. where did the other 970 frames come from!?

VEGAN food is so...
GOOD! my cousin took me to this vegan place near my house for brunch and when i first saw it i was kind of skeptical because the placed looked like a dump. most of the time when i think of vegetarian/vegan places i expect the atmosphere to be really hip and cool but this place was not it. they just looked like some average thai people with a little shop, if the name was never "Vegan House" i would have guessed it to be some random fast food china place. but for what they lack in design there orange "chicken" makes up for everything. and for $6.99 during lunch its not a bad deal at all. remember its vegan so no chicken, its kind of like a big ball of breaded nothingness but it was the best damn chickenless orange chicken ive had. go check it out.
quickie

i saw this on my friends tumblr and at first i was kind of like what the heck is that then i took a closer look at the second part of the picture and got blown away. take a good hard look. some artists are on top of their game. i love it
Fast Lap!

today i went to Fast Lap in Mira Loma for some indoor gokarting for Andy Parks birthday. it was fast fun and we stayed for a good three or four hours. by the last race i was feeling sick. the smell of gasoline makes me dizzy and makes me feel like im getting motion sickness (meow. i know). on the track there was this little 12 year old kid who raced with us and beat all of us every single race. that kid was pretty damn good. i would love to go again, my friend was telling me about this place called K1 so maybe ill go check that one out when i have money.
